aqua-FUN runs its water-sports base at the Alperstedter See near Erfurt, which the team also calls "Lago di Alpi". The lake is shallow inland water in the open Thuringian Basin, so when the weather sets up there is usable wind across the surface. From April to September it offers courses in windsurfing, kitesurfing, wing surfing and SUP, plus diving. aqua-FUN has been going since 1990 and is VDWS-certified, teaching with licensed instructors. Brands on the water include Naish, RRD, NeilPryde and JP-Australia, backed by a large shop in Erfurt.
