Risco del Paso at the southern tip of Fuerteventura is one of Europe's best-known watersports addresses – home of the famous Sotavento lagoon. ION CLUB (started in 1985 as Club Mistral) sits right at this spot: at low tide a huge, standing-depth flatwater lagoon forms for learning, gentle waves run further out, and a reliable northeast trade wind blows year-round over fine sand with no rocks.

It teaches kitesurfing and windsurfing, plus SUP and wave riding; gear and rental are complete, and a rescue boat and jet ski cover the area.
