ION CLUB Sal runs two stations on Sal: Santa Maria with a lagoon-style area and side-off to side-shore wind, and Ponta Leme as a freeride spot with flatter water near shore and waves further out. The Ponta Preta wave break is about 15 minutes away by car.
It teaches windsurfing, plus kite, wingfoil and SUP. Beginners start at Santa Maria, advanced riders head to Ponta Leme. The kit is Fanatic and Duotone. Staff speak German, English, French and Italian among others. ION CLUB has been going since 1985.
