The VDWS Kite- und Surfschule Heiligendamm sits on the promenade of the Baltic resort of Heiligendamm near Bad Doberan, on the open Baltic. It teaches kitesurfing, windsurfing, wing foiling and SUP – Wolfgang von Oechelhaeuser has run the school since 2011 and, as a VDWS instructor, brings over 30 years of windsurfing experience. The focus is on individual coaching rather than large groups, with private and partner lessons. After your training you receive the VDWS licence for your level, letting you rent gear worldwide. For kiting the shallow Salzhaff is also used. Season runs April to October.
