The Surfcenter Altmühlsee is on the eastern shore of Lake Altmühlsee near Gunzenhausen, in the heart of the Franconian Lake District, and has been running since 1998. One of the region's most versatile inland stations – from your first stand on a SUP to kiting.
It teaches and rents windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoiling and SUP, plus kayaks and bikes. Guided SUP tours, an attached shop and a café and beer garden with lake views turn a course day into a full day on the water. The Franconian Lake District was purpose-built as a recreation and watersports region – the Altmühlsee is its wind-open centrepiece.
