Wasserski- und Surfschule Holger Brümmer is on the Plauer See in the Mecklenburg Lake District, in the Quetzin district near Kohlinsel. The northwestern shore offers calm conditions well suited to basic windsurf training, tide-free freshwater with no salt. The school has run since 1995, windsurfing is possible from around age eight, and in about three days you learn to manoeuvre safely. In the July and August high season courses start twice a week, each beginning with a trial lesson. You finish with the VDWS basic licence.
