Windsurfclub Emsland e.V. was founded in 1985 and, with around 1,300 members, is one of the largest windsurfing clubs in Germany. The spot is the Speicherbecken Geeste between Lingen and Meppen on the B70, originally built as a cooling-water basin and today a pure watersport lake.

It offers windsurfing and stand-up paddling. You can learn to windsurf here in a few days and finish with the internationally valid VDWS basic licence; one-day courses are possible. The club grounds with clubhouse right on the basin form the base for courses and free riding.
