ION CLUB Mauritius sits at Le Morne on the south-west coast, on the flat turquoise lagoon behind a reef about 600 metres out. The lagoon is knee to hip deep; outside, waves like Little Reef, Manawa and the notorious One-Eye break on the reef. Wind runs around 12 to 20 knots in summer and 15 to 26 in winter.
Two bases, Kite Lagoon and La Pointe, cover kiting, windsurfing, wingfoiling, surfing and SUP, from first lesson to advanced. A rescue boat and hotel shuttle are part of it, and staff speak German, English and French among others. ION CLUB has been going since 1985.
