About this spot
ION CLUB Tarifa sits on Valdevaqueros beach with its big sand dune, around ten kilometres outside Tarifa on the Strait of Gibraltar. It's the windiest spot in the region: roughly 300 windy days a year, plus the two house winds Levante (side-off) and Poniente (side-on). Sometimes flat water, sometimes chop, on some days small waves.
The school teaches kiting, windsurfing, wing foiling and SUP, beginner courses included. The team speaks German, English, Spanish, Italian and French. ION CLUB has been going since 1985; in Tarifa the station is run by Mirco Bertarelli. Right next door is Dani García's BiBo Beach House.
