About this spot
Surf-Hecht is the surf and canoe base on the eastern shore of the Müritz, at the Boek campground in the resort of Rechlin. The spot is one of Germany's largest shallow-water areas: several square kilometres at just 40 to 90 cm deep with barely any chop – ideal for learning, since a fall just leaves you standing again. It teaches windsurfing, wing foiling and SUP, and even non-swimming 7- and 8-year-olds learn in dedicated "dwarf courses" in knee-deep water. Surf-Hecht is VDWS-certified and runs gear from GUN, Fanatic and Starboard.
