Surfers Paradise runs a water-sports centre in Laboe on the Kieler Förde, right on the Baltic. The line-up covers kitesurfing, windsurfing, wing foiling and SUP, and the flat fjord water suits beginners well. The operation traces back to Surfers Paradise, by its own account the world's first VDWS kitesurfing school, founded in 1998, with years of teaching in Laboe. Courses start weekly and can be booked flexibly over one to three days, with board, rig, wetsuit and harness included. Tuition is available in German and English.
