Surfschule Ammersee in Eching was founded in 1977 by Richard Müller and is now run by Valerie Müller – inland watersports with a long history. It sits on the northern shore of Lake Ammersee at the sheltered Eching Bay, whose large shallow-water area makes learning windsurfing, wingsurfing and SUP relaxed.
The programme includes VDWS surf courses, children's courses, SUP intro and basic courses, SUP yoga and rental. Ammersee is a classic thermal-wind lake: in spring and autumn the day-to-night temperature difference often brings 5 to 6 knots from the northeast to north, with lighter wind in high summer. If you want to learn windsurfing without driving to the sea, this is the place.
