Surfschule Norddeich sits right on the East Frisian Wadden Sea and is, for many, the gateway to North Sea watersports. It teaches windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoiling and SUP – plus kayaking and landboarding. As everywhere on the North Sea, operations follow the tides: the best window is around high water, when the flats are flooded and shallow standing water forms for practice.
Courses include the VDWS basic licence, with online modules (e-training) beforehand to get the theory out of the way from the beach. Gear and storage, children's and youth courses, accommodation and a shop are on site; the team works station-based and runs its own tutorials via "Norddeich TV".
