The Surf- und Segelschule Amrum (Boyens) lies in the north of the island above the Norddorf bathing beach, where the wide Kniepsand meets the North Sea. This is tidal saltwater with plenty of room on the sand. The school teaches windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP and catamaran sailing, each as taster, intermediate and advanced courses.
For windsurfing and kiting the day starts with dry practice on the beach before you head onto the water. The gear ridden and rented is from Core, Duotone and Naish. Tuition follows VDWS guidelines and the licences are recognised internationally. The school has been running in Norddorf on Amrum since 1956.
