About this spot
The watersports centre of Freie Universität Berlin sits on the Badeweg in Nikolassee, right on the Wannsee. Run by the university sports department, it is easy to reach by S-Bahn and offers good beginner conditions on the broad, calm water of the lake.
The programme includes windsurfing and stand-up paddling, along with canoeing, sailing and rowing, plus training for the German inland and coastal boating licences. As a VDWS station it runs courses for beginners and improvers, with rental available to anyone who has completed the training.
