The Humboldt University water sports centre sits in Berlin-Schmöckwitz, in the forest- and lake-rich southeast of the city. Run through the university sports office (ZEH), it serves students and staff of Berlin's universities. On the flat freshwater of the Dahme lake district you can take up windsurfing here, with stand-up paddling also on offer. In windsurfing you can earn the VDWS basic licence. The calm, easily reached setting suits beginners building confidence without tide or current.
