The Wassersportzentrum Pleinfeld sits at the south-eastern tip of the Großer Brombachsee, right behind the dam. It is run by the university sports department of FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg – so it is not a classic public surf rental but a training facility focused on sailing, plus SUP and kayaking.
Across roughly 650 m² with moorings for 20 dinghies, a workshop and seminar rooms, it has offered mainly sailing instruction since 2003. Participants are FAU students and those of partner universities as well as – by arrangement – companies and organisations. If you want to get on the water here, plan access via the university sports programme or an arrangement.
