Wassersportzentrum Segelschule Plön is on Ascheberger Straße at the Großer Plöner See, the largest lake in Schleswig-Holstein, in the heart of the Holstein Switzerland region. The inland lake, with its shallow shoreline and mostly offshore wind, is a good place to learn windsurfing – the water stays calm and tide-free. On offer are windsurfing courses, including the Windsurfing basic certificate and a junior basic certificate. The school operates seasonally through the summer. Beyond windsurfing there's rental of SUPs, canoes, kayaks and boats.
If you want to try windsurfing on a flat lake away from the Baltic, the Plöner See is a solid choice.
