Windsport Usedom is based on the main street in Ückeritz, with the spot on the Achterwasser - the natural border between the island and the mainland. The water here is noticeably calmer than the Baltic, with sandy, firm ground free of stones, no shallows and no current; the roughly 300-metre standing area makes it a friendly place for beginners. The school teaches windsurfing, dinghy and catamaran sailing, and SUP, with courses for children and teenagers too. The sailing instructors are VDWS-trained. Gear can be rented by the hour or on a ten-session card. Open from May to September.
