This VDWS surf school is in Chieming on the eastern shore of the Chiemsee – the "Bavarian Sea" and the state's largest lake. Its sheer size and thermally supported winds have made it one of southern Germany's most popular inland spots for windsurfers for decades.
On offer are windsurf courses to VDWS standard plus SUP rental. The open eastern shore gives plenty of room to practise, with a view across the lake to the Alps. If you want to start windsurfing in Upper Bavaria or firm up your first transitions, the Chiemsee is a solid choice.
