Calshot is a kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf spot in the United Kingdom. Calshot lies on a spit at the mouth of Southampton Water, almost entirely surrounded by water. The prevailing SW wind blows sideshore. In summer the sea breeze channels the wind through the Solent – often windy when it is calm elsewhere. A school teaches in a large, calm lagoon.
The spot works best with wind from SW, S, SE; the windiest period is Apr–Oct. Expect choppy water most of the time. It suits beginners and intermediates.
