About this spot
Jæren – Solastranden is a kitesurf, windsurf and surf spot in Norway. According to the city of Stavanger, Solastrand attracts windsurfers and kiters in particular because of its relatively sheltered wave conditions, even in strong wind. Considered a beginner beach; small waves in summer, powerful conditions in late autumn and winter.
The spot works best with wind from SW, W, NW; the windiest period is Apr–Oct. Depending on the wind you get flat water, chop or waves. It suits beginners and intermediates.
