About this spot
La Baule / Pornichet – Kite Channel K13 is a kitesurf spot in France. In the bay of La Baule, kiting is prohibited from the first to the last laying of the buoys (roughly mid-May to mid-September) – launching is then only possible via kite channel K13 on the La Baule/Pornichet boundary. The channel is open from 12 noon to 7 pm under the supervision of the lifeguard station; openings are announced via a WhatsApp group. Wingfoiling in the kite channel is prohibited. Kite and board must be marked with your name and phone number or email (compulsory in July/August).
The spot works best with wind from S, SW, W, SE; the windiest period is Sep–Jun. Expect choppy water most of the time. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
