About this spot
Pistol River is a kitesurf, windsurf and surf spot in the United States. Many consider Pistol River State Scenic Viewpoint on Oregon's south coast the best windsurfing spot in the state, and it has hosted several national championships. The Wave Bash contest takes place at the spot “The Rock” in the state park. Constant wind also attracts kiters.
The spot works best with wind from NW, N; the windiest period is May–Sep. Depending on the swell there are waves. It suits advanced riders.
