Boardflash is based in the little fishing village of Lemkenhafen on Fehmarn, just minutes from the dike at the Orther Reede. Lessons run in the bay between Orth and Gollendorf – a huge shallow standing area where you can simply stand between kite attempts. That takes the pressure off beginners and makes this stretch of Baltic one of the calmest learning spots on the island.

Teaching is VDWS-licensed, with a maximum of two students per kite, and you pay per session rather than in fixed packages. Alongside kitesurfing there are windsurf beginner courses with a VDWS card, foil lessons, kids' courses and rental gear. Kit comes from current North and Core ranges, kite sizes 6.0 to 15.0. Sessions start daily at 9:30 or 14:00 in 3-4 hour blocks.
