About this spot
Fanø – Rindby Strand is a kitesurf, windsurf and surf spot in Denmark. West side of Fanø: wide beach, you can drive right down to the water and have plenty of space to launch. Because of sandbanks and tide, on the same day there can be flat water at the beach and chop and 1–2 m waves further out. Works in S, N, W, NW and SW; W is considered the best direction for waves. Kite lessons take place on the beach south of Rindby; the east side of Fanø is a protected area with a kiting ban.
The spot works best with wind from S, SW, W, NW, N; the windiest period is Apr–Oct. Depending on the wind you get flat water, chop or waves. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
