About this spot

Hoek van Holland – Beach is a kitesurf, windsurf and surf spot in the Netherlands. Wide sandy beach with a 150 m wide launch and landing zone; the water sports zone is 500 m wide between Beachclub Royal and the Rechtestraat lifeguard post. Gets deep quickly, at times tricky shorebreak; in SW often gusty because of the Rotterdam harbour pier. Starting point of the kitesurf marathon "Van Hoek tot Helder" (130 km to Den Helder).

The spot works best with wind from SW, W, NW, N; the windiest period is Sep–May. Depending on the swell there are waves. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
