About this spot
Corfu – Halikounas (Korission Lagoon) is a kitesurf and windsurf spot in Greece. The almost 3 km long sand strip of Halikounas lies between the Ionian Sea and the Korission Lagoon in the south-west of Corfu. A kite club (season May to October) and a surf centre with lessons and rental are based here. The regular NW wind provides good conditions; the lagoon is sheltered, and there is hardly any infrastructure apart from a beach canteen.
The spot works best with wind from NW, W; the windiest period is May–Oct. Expect choppy water most of the time. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
