About this spot

Crete – Ammoudara (Heraklion) is a kitesurf and windsurf spot in Greece. The long sandy beach west of Heraklion is frequently exposed to strong northerly winds. Kiting and windsurfing take place on open sections of the beach when wind, sea state and local rules allow. In summer the beach is busy with hotels and swimmers; the launch site must be chosen carefully.
