About this spot
Crete – Episkopi (Georgioupoli) is a windsurf and surf spot in Greece. The beach between Georgioupoli and Episkopi, around 30 km east of Chania, gets the Meltemi from the NW (12–25 kn) cross-onshore from the left. There are waves up to 1.5 m and some shorebreak; the standing-depth area is only about 5 m wide. The best access is at Episkopi Beach, with a large car park, kiosk and taverna.
The spot works best with wind from NW (Meltemi, Thermik); the windiest period is May–Oct. Depending on the swell there are waves. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
