About this spot
Mykonos – Korfos is a kitesurf and windsurf spot in Greece. Korfos Bay, south of the airport, lies about 2.5 km from Mykonos Town; it is open to the north, and the Meltemi blows onshore into it. With N to NE wind the water is fairly smooth; a funnel effect strengthens the wind by a few knots, and in strong NNW there is chop and a small shorebreak. A kite centre, the island's first kite school, is on the beach; windsurfers launch best on the west side of the bay.
The spot works best with wind from N, NE, NW (Meltemi); the windiest period is Jun–Sep. Expect choppy water most of the time. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
