Phan Rang – Ninh Chu
Vietnam · Kitesurf · Windsurf · Wingfoil
About this spot
About two hours' drive north of Mui Ne lies the Bay of Phan Rang – the windier, far less crowded twin. Ninh Chu Beach sits roughly 15 km southwest of the well-known My Hoa Lagoon and catches both the winter monsoon and summer thermals.
Main season is the northeast monsoon from November to April, peaking December to February; a reliable 18 to 25 knots, gustier in the squalls. Why is Phan Rang rated Vietnam's windiest spot? Because the NE wind funnels over a mountain range and arrives accelerated – though a touch gusty for it. The water is choppy with a wave element. Ninh Chu suits advanced riders chasing strong, dependable days away from the crowd; for flat water, pair it with the nearby My Hoa Lagoon.

Insider tips
For flat water and freestyle, plan a day at My Hoa Lagoon – only about 15 km away. The NE wind is gusty off the mountain range, so size your kite slightly down.
⚠︎ Hazards
Choppy sea with waves and gusty mountain wind – not a beginner venue. On strong days the wind can blow hard onshore.
