About this spot

The former fishing village of Mui Ne on the coast of Bình Thuận province has been Asia's largest kitesurf hub since the early 2000s. During the northeast monsoon from November to April, a steady side-onshore wind blows along a kilometre-long sandy beach, usually 15–25 knots, and considerably more on the windiest days from January to March. The wind is thermally enhanced and often builds strongly in the afternoon – it is common to start the morning on a 12 m and drop to a 9 or 7 m later. The water is warm (26–30 °C) and the bottom shelves gently; in front of the beach you mostly find chop with small waves.

When is the best time to visit Mui Ne? The main season runs from November to March/April, most reliable from December to February. Suitable for all levels.
