About this spot
Rodrigues – Mourouk is a kitesurf and surf spot in Mauritius. Wide sandy beach on the south-east coast of Rodrigues in front of the Mourouk Ebony hotel, with a kite centre right on the beach. The lagoon is mostly about 1.5 m deep; only at spring low tide do some areas dry out. SE trade wind, strongest June to October, averaging 20–25 knots; weaker in the morning, stronger in the afternoon. The SE comes slightly cross-onshore; with a long tack you reach a small reef wave on the east side.
The spot works best with wind from SE, E; the windiest period is Jun–Oct. The water is mostly flat. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
