About this spot
Struisbaai – Main Beach is a kitesurf and surf spot in South Africa. Sheltered bay near Cape Agulhas with flat water; large lawn for setting up at the beach, toilets and showers available. SE blows slightly onshore and becomes sideshore further down the beach. Outside, the swell can get big, right-hand wave with SW or SE. From Main Beach you can tack upwind to the harbour – flat water for wakestyle there.
The spot works best with wind from SE; the windiest period is Oct–Apr. Depending on the wind you get flat water, chop or waves. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
