Atlántico – Puerto Velero is a kitesurf spot in Colombia. Puerto Velero in Tubará lies around 27 km from Barranquilla and is considered one of the best kite spots in Colombia; lessons are offered all year round. In the dry season the NE breeze blows at up to 60 km/h, in the rainy season weaker (up to 20 km/h) with waves of up to 1.5 m. According to the department, favourable wind conditions on around ten months of the year; about 8,000 kite tourists per year.
