Halmstad – Västra stranden (Doggen) is a kitesurf and windsurf spot in Sweden. Open sandy beach close to town west of the Nissan river mouth with a shallow bottom – popular with kiters. Works in SW or W wind. On the beach is Söderpiren with a café, restaurant and surf rental, plenty of parking.
The spot works best with wind from SW, W; the windiest period is Apr–Oct. Expect choppy water most of the time. It suits beginners and intermediates.
