About this spot
Hurghada – Magawish is a kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf spot in Egypt. Station right at the Mercure Hotel, about 12 km south of the centre of Hurghada, in a small sandy bay. Wind sideshore from the left; in the morning often slightly offshore at first before it turns. About 700 m upwind there are sandbanks with standing-depth flat water where the lessons take place; boat shuttle out there. At high tide you launch directly from the sandy beach; at low tide a red buoy marks the entry and exit between the corals. Wind all year round; April to October are considered the best months.
The spot works best with wind from N, NW; the windiest period is Apr–Oct. The water is mostly flat. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
