About this spot
Lignano – Isola delle Conchiglie is a kitesurf spot in Italy. In Lignano Sabbiadoro people kite along the entire 8 km beach from October to May. During the bathing season kiters move to the Isola delle Conchiglie a few kilometres from the Faro Rosso. There the sand stays shallow for hundreds of metres from the shore; the onshore sea breeze ensures a safe return to the beach. Clubs offer lessons for adults and children all year round.
The spot works best with wind from SE, S (Scirocco, Seebrise); the windiest period is Jan–Dec. The water is mostly flat. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
