About this spot
Marsa Alam – El Naaba is a kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf spot in Egypt. Station on the grounds of the Three Corners Equinox hotel, about 30 km south of Marsa Alam airport. The first 20 m of the bay are sandy standing-depth water; a reef about 200 m offshore protects the bay from big waves. A gap in the reef to the south leads to the open sea with non-breaking swell (1.5–3 m). About 2 km to the south lies a lagoon with a large standing-depth area, reachable only by shuttle. The station requires VDWS level 5 for kiting in the bay.
The spot works best with wind from N, NW; the windiest period is Jan–Dec. Depending on the wind you get flat water, chop or waves. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
