About this spot
Rhodes – Trianda (Ialysos) is a wingfoil and windsurf spot in Greece. The gravel beach of Trianda near Ialysos is one of the most popular windsurf beaches in Greece; kitesurfing is banned here. The Meltemi blows side-shore from the left, moderate in the morning and often around 25 kn in the afternoon; a venturi effect between Rhodes and Turkey strengthens it. The entry slopes gently, with mostly smooth water and chop; a centre around 500 m downwind is suitable for beginners.
The spot works best with wind from W, NW (Meltemi); the windiest period is May–Oct. Expect choppy water most of the time. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
