About this spot

Samos – Kokkari is a windsurf spot in Greece. Kokkari on the north coast of Samos lies in a wide bay with a shallow, sheltered area in the middle. The Meltemi blows side-shore from the left, strengthened in the afternoon by thermal wind from the mountains; further out there is more wind and chop. Kokkari is more for intermediate riders; beginners go to Avlakia, about 4 km away.

The spot works best with wind from NW, W (Meltemi); the windiest period is Jun–Sep. Expect choppy water most of the time. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
