About this spot
São Vicente – Salamansa is a kitesurf and surf spot in Cape Verde. Popular wave spot on the north-east coast of São Vicente; right in front of the main beach the waves break fast and the wind is almost onshore. The better waves are further east (to the right) in the bay; the waves also serve as kickers for jumps. Trade wind mainly from NNE, often over 25 knots; best time December to June.
The spot works best with wind from NE, N; the windiest period is Dec–Jun. Depending on the swell there are waves. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
