About this spot

A ferry terminal to Föhr, Amrum and the Halligen – and at the same time a spot with wide views for experienced riders. You kite at the jetty to the right of the harbour. In west to northwest wind, tide and shipping channel combine to form a small but steep wave that can reach around 1.5 m; it runs cleanest on the ebbing water. Water stands for about six hours, usable roughly three hours before and after high tide. On the south side of the harbour it also works in southwest wind, as a freeride area in front of the colourful beach houses. There is no school on site – courses run on nearby Föhr.

When is the best time to visit Dagebüll? The windy shoulder months of spring and autumn.

Insider tips

At the jetty in west/NW you get a short, steep wave – best on the ebbing water. The south side works in southwest. Beginners are better off learning on Föhr.

⚠︎ Hazards

Watch out for ferry traffic – keep a large safety distance from the terminal. Strong current in the shipping channel, especially on the ebb; watch the tide tables.
