About this spot
Dahab – Lagoon is a kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf spot in Egypt. Kiting in the bay is only allowed in certain areas, such as the small lagoon at the northern end by the Dahab Lagoon Club. The standing-depth kite lagoon (about 300 × 500 m) can only be used for a few hours a day because of the tide. At the southern end, in front of the Hotel Jaz Dahabeya, is the launch for advanced kiters; a boat shuttle runs between the two areas. The inner bay is reserved for windsurfers; outside the headland lie speed and wave areas. Wind on around 300 days a year with at least 4 Bft.
The spot works best with wind from N, NE; the windiest period is Apr–Oct. The water is mostly flat. It suits beginners, intermediates and advanced riders.
