About this spot

Nessnass Beach – also known as Jumeirah Public Beach – sits about four kilometres south of Kite Beach along Jumeirah Beach Road, near Sunset Mall. It is the quieter of the two Dubai spots: the same winds as Kite Beach but with far more room, which is why the local scene has made it their go-to foil and freestyle area.

The wind is the winter Shamal, a northwesterly system that blows from November to April at roughly 15–25 knots, often holding for several days in a row. The water is flat to lightly choppy and the bay opens in a U-shape, so almost any direction sits side- to side-onshore. When is the best time to go? December to April, when the Shamal is most reliable and the water is still pleasantly warm. It suits taught beginners as well as foilers and freestylers looking for open space.

Location

Insider tips

More room than Kite Beach – ideal for foiling and freestyle sessions. The Shamal often builds through the day, with the late afternoon usually the most stable.

⚠︎ Hazards

Between Shamal phases it can stay windless for days – check the forecast. In the warmer half of the year the wind drops off sharply and water temperatures run high.
