About this spot
Praia do Bilene – Lagoon is a kitesurf spot in Mozambique. Small town around 3 hours north of Maputo on a large lagoon where the hotels are located. In the lagoon kiting is best in N wind, but it then gets quite gusty and choppy. Wind season September to March with about 15–25 knots daily. Another flat-water spot ("Secret Spot") is about 10 minutes away by boat; it works in S wind and only at high tide.
The spot works best with wind from N; the windiest period is Sep–Mar. The water is mostly flat. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
