About this spot
Sidi Kaouki is a kitesurf, windsurf and surf spot in Morocco. Beach over 12 km long, about 22–25 km south of Essaouira. The wind is usually up to 10 kn stronger than in the bay of Essaouira; in summer 30–40 kn is normal. Fully exposed to Atlantic swell: often 2–4 m waves in spring, 1.5–2.5 m in summer. With waves of 2 m or more it breaks twice – about 120 m off the beach and at the shorebreak. At the north end there is a marabout, a large car park and some cafés; a centre with a jet ski for safety cover.
The spot works best with wind from N, NW; the windiest period is Apr–Oct. Depending on the swell there are waves. It suits intermediates and advanced riders.
