About this spot
A legendary Jade Bay spot on the southwestern side, with fine sand and cult status among kiters from the Weser region. In N, NW, W and NE the wind comes in cleanly across the bay, giving a flat-to-choppy water state over wide areas. Thanks to the favourable shoreline of the Jade Bay, there is a rideable corner for almost every wind direction. You rig and launch on the beach below the dyke.
How do the tides work here? The Jade Bay dries out far twice a day; around high water, roughly one to two hours before and after, there is enough water for a relaxed session. Best time to travel is April to October. Suits beginners and advanced riders who can handle tide and Wadden flats.

Insider tips
Best window high water plus/minus about two hours. Park at the dyke-crest car park. In NW with an incoming tide the current pulls towards the harbour entrance – hold your position.
⚠︎ Hazards
Tide-dependent – take tidal channels and Wadden currents seriously on a falling tide. In NW with an incoming tide a strong current builds towards the Jade Bay, especially at the harbour entrance.
