Glücksburg – Sandwig
Germany · Kitesurf · Windsurf · Wingfoil
About this spot
Sandwig lies near Glücksburg at the very north, on the Flensburg Fjord right by the Danish border. The Baltic here is tide-free. In east and northeast wind the flow is accelerated into the fjord, the water stays smooth and shallow near the shore – a genuine light-wind area for wingfoil and kitesurf that works without much swell.
The northern fjord and the spots west of the Holnis peninsula work mainly in southwest to west, while the beaches east of Holnis do best in north to northwest. Sandwig itself has a course beach with seasonal rental. Who is the spot for? Anyone after flat water and relaxed light-wind sessions, from beginner to advanced, best time April to October.
